SUSPECTED con artist Jody Harris bought a designer poodle, dog accessories and a $4000 watch during an alleged spending spree in New South Wales, a court has been told.
Ms Harris, 28, of Queensland, was refused bail in Sydney's Central Local Court today where she was charged with 34 counts of obtaining money by deception and one of larceny.
Court documents allege Ms Harris withdrew money from the accounts of unsuspecting victims and purchased everything from car fuel to hair accessories and a TAG Heuer link diamond watch worth $3950.
The charge sheet alleges she used the credit cards of five women in stores in Sydney's eastern suburbs from October 10 last year to June 23 this year.
On one occasion she allegedly used the personal details of Sydney woman Amanda Urquhart to withdraw $4000 from the account of Ms Urquhart's parents.
On another, she allegedly used Ms Urquhart's American Express card to buy a black Bichoodle puppy dog valued at $1652 and almost $200 worth of dog accessories from stores in Chatswood.
