The 'extinction' baby name list

While the most popular names for 2023 will likely be influenced by movie stars, royals and other celebrities, Nameberry have predicted what names will be vanishing.

Starting off with girls' names: Shania, Sheila, Shirley, Stacey and... Karen all make the list.

It's no surprise that Karen's heading to the bin, because in the UK this year - only one baby was named that.

It may also come as no surprise that Donald is fading from popularity too, with just one registration in 2022 as well.

Other boys' names that are endangered include: Bill, Cliff, Giles, Harold, Nigel, Rhett, Saul and Wallace.
