Melbourne Cup: Roxy Jacenko stuns in $3k designer outfit

The SAS star and PR queen has shunned tradition with bold race day outfit, sparing no expense in the process — and people love it.

Melbourne Cup: Best and worst dressed off the field

Melbourne Cup might look a little different this year but it hasn’t stopped Roxy Jacenko from leading the fashion pack with an eye-catching outfit.

The PR queen has spared no expense when it comes to her race day outfit, wearing a blue camo-print dress from French designer Dior that costs around $3000.

Fittingly Roxy paired the dress with Dior accessories, sporting one of the brand’s iconic saddle bags in black and an equestrian-style hat complete with veil.

She added some extra sparkle to her outfit with a diamond-encrusted Chopard watch, necklace and bracelet from Nicholas Haywood Jewellery and personalised “R” diamond letter from House of Kdor.

“Went subtle this Cup Day,” Roxy wrote on Instagram of her Cup Day outfit, where she won plenty of praise for her “exquisite” high fashion look.

“Love this outfit Rox,” one wrote, while another said she looked “amazing”.

While there was no trackside celebrations this year Roxy didn’t let her race day outfit go to waste, heading to the Justin Hemmes-owned restaurant Mimi’s in Sydney’s Coogee Beach where she kicked off celebrations with caviar.

Roxy’s race day must come as welcome respite for the busy businesswoman following her exit from SAS Australia.

The 40-year-old bowed out of the Channel 7 show after just six hours, revealing she had fractured her hip and pelvis just weeks before the show began filming.

Her short stint also cost her friendship with Candice Warner, with Roxy claiming the two women had a huge falling out on the set of the show when they were challenged by the show’s instructors to take each other on in a boxing fight.

Roxy claimed she was “upset” at being paired with Candice and refused to punch her friend during the match.

The encounter resulted in Candice dumping Roxy as her publicist, she claimed.

Roxy has also challenged claims from SAS Australia instructor Ollie Ollerton, who said she was “horrendous from the outset”.

Taking to her Instagram Stories in response to his remarks, Jacenko shared a screenshot of a conversation she had with Ollerton following her departure, in which he said she should be “proud” of her efforts.
