Singer Delta Goodrem has turned heads at Flemington Racecourse in a figure-hugging Dolce & Gabbana floral two-piece.

This year, Melbourne Cup attendees are expected to rock “all-out glamour” after the vast majority of us spent the last two race days watching from the couch in our activewear.

The 37-year-old nailed the brief, wearing a pair of black lace gloves under the long-sleeved shirt, which retails for $2250, while the matching pencil skirt is priced at $1350.

She finished her look with a black hat and open-toe heels, adorned with a cute bow.

Goodrem told Channel 10 she’d flown to London to get her Stephen Jones Millinery hat fitted.

“Stephen Jones, he’s a master of masters,” she said.

“I got to wear one of his creations. He is magical. His heart - we went into his store in London and you saw the artistry of millinery.”

The singer shared on Instagram last month that she felt “honoured to be continuing my partnership with @FlemingtonVRC”.

“Looking forward to being trackside for @LexusAustralia Melbourne Cup Day to soak up all the magic of the Carnival.”

Goodrem has never shied away from a bold Cup look. Last year, as the headline act, she stunned onlookers with an unexpected outfit change.

She arrived at Flemington in a striking pink and light green jumpsuit – but during her performance, changed into an almost fluorescent orange floor-length gown with a billowing cape.

The bright orange dress was certainly a statement piece, featuring long sleeves and a high neck, ensuring no skin was flashed during the show.

In recent years, racewear rules have relaxed for those in general admission areas, however the Victoria Racing Club (VRC) stresses guests in the members enclosures – which include the prestigious Birdcage – are “expected to maintain a suitable standard in keeping with the dignity”.

“Key items of clothing that are not acceptable include; short jumpsuits or playsuits, garments that show the midriff and shorts,” VRC states on its website.

Other garments that aren’t welcome at Flemington are those that include denim of any kind, outfits that feature cut-outs, and apparel with tears or rips.

Tights and leggings are also banned, with VRC stating pants should be “tailored”. Thongs, sneakers and casual shoes are also not acceptable.
