'Is this not a known toddler mum hack?' The simple DIY sleeping solution

Posting to her account, Heather films herself walking into her kids' room and showing their beds. Their sheets are elevated on either side, creating a 'dip' in the middle.

After venturing under their covers and unzipping the mattress protector, she reveals the game-changing solution.

Instead of buying expensive bed rails, she just duct-taped a few pool noodles together to form a triangle that acts as a DIY barrier.

Keeping it under the mattress protector ensures that it stays put and doesn't move around when the kids are sleeping.

She narrates over the clip, "Is this not a known toddler mum hack? Because I just blew my friend's mind."

Heather captioned the clip, "$12 for the win!" but in Australia, you can get pool noodles from Kmart for as little as two bucks!

'We need to try this with our clumsy human'

Parents in the comments went wild for the simple trick and Heather's video now has over five million views, 369k likes and 1200+ comments.

"Love this," one person said, while others agreed it was a "great idea" and "really cute."

"I never thought of this, thankyou!!!" one appreciative fan added.

"I do this with my littles and it definitely helps to teach them to stay in the middle of the bed and not go flying off," one mum wrote.

Some people even said, "I want this for myself!"

"Can't wait to try this," someone else replied. A different parent remarked, "I'm going to do this. I'm so scared about my boy falling off his bed."

"Okay we need to do this for our clumsy little human," someone else said, tagging their partner.

Others also suggested that using pillows and towels also works just as well.

'Wait, toddlers sleep in their beds?!'

However, some people joked that falling off your bed as a kid is "character building" and that they did it when they were younger and they're "fine."

"Waking up on the floor builds character," one of the top comments read.

Another said: "I just let my kids fall off so they can eventually learn to stay put."

"I fell off the top bunk and I'm fine," another concluded.

And a fourth pointed out, "I didn't even know people had toddlers that slept in their own beds so this blew my mind."

Then another mentioned that their kids would "definitely still find a way to still fall out over the pool noodles. "
