A bride has been slammed after a picture of her unique wedding dress emerged on the internet.

And people weren’t kind with their comments as they said she looked like ‘a gingerbread house’ thanks to her choice of gown.

The newlywed had walked down the aisle in a nude floor length dress with intricate white lace detailing all over, reports The Sun.

The long-sleeved number, which also featured a small train, is said to be a copycat of Rue De Seine’s Avril design.

The original dress – which costs a whopping £3,895 (roughly $7,300 AUD) – is described on the fashion designer’s website as for the “brave, bold and daring bride”.

“Covered with all over dramatic Cornelli Lace, its lace placements are designed to flatter the figure from all angles,” it adds.

Many believed the “gingerbread” bride’s dress was a replica of the gown, which is available in two different colours, Avril and Off-White

However, it didn’t take long for eagle-eyed commenters to point out the similarities – and differences – between the designer gown and its maybe dupe when an image of it appeared in a Facebook group titled ‘That’s it, I’m wedding dress shaming’.

“This has to be a knock off of a Rue De Seine dress because the real one is fabulous!” one commented. “The real ones are like 4k and up and have a very boho woodsy hippie feel … but this is just awful!”

A second joined in the lively discussion, as they wrote: “Not the knock off Avril dress from Rue de Seine.”

Meanwhile, others said they felt the dress wasn’t particularly flattering due to its nude underlay and interestingly-placed pattern.

“This does not look good. It is not flattering to her body,” one blasted. “It does not accentuate her curves and makes her boobs look weird. Also the pattern on it definitely looks strange around the breast and crotch area.”

Another was in agreement, as they typed: “There is literally a flower over her “flora-gina” never a good look.”

While many commenters likened the bride to a festive sweet treat, another said her dress was one of least flattering they’d eyeballed.

“OMG this is one of the worst I’ve seen!” one said.

“Wow it looks like she’s wearing a gingerbread house,” a second added.

While a third went on to say “Oh for goodness sake … do people not look in a mirror?”
