Woman, 28, shares how she fell in love with her 70-year-old husband
A 28-year-old woman who has been labelled a gold digger has revealed how she fell in love with her 70-year-old husband.
A couple with a 42-year age gap has opened up about their romance, giving a glimpse at how they fell in love.
Jackie, 28, and David, 70, met via a dating app while David was in the Philippines.
“I practically jumped out of my chair, I was so impressed by what I saw,” David said on the Love Don’t Judge YouTube channel.
The pair decided to meet at a Starbucks, with Jackie saying she had no idea what he looked like.
Jackie, then 21, said she could tell he was fun and a real gentleman. David then returned to the United States.
He said age wasn’t a factor in what he was looking for on the dating app.
On a second trip to Jackie’s home country, David proposed but it was a number of months before Jackie’s visa cleared and she was able to go with him to California, where the couple eventually got married.
She said her family and friends were supportive of the decision.
“I don’t regret when I married Dave because he is a really nice man. He loves me and respects me – he’s the best,” she said, adding she didn’t have any concerns about the age gap.
David admitted he was concerned and constantly reminded Jackie he was older than her parents and checked whether she wanted to go through with it.
He said Jackie always said she was excited without any hesitation, and said that she had adjusted to life in the United States.
The pair have a TikTok together, with Jackie saying she made the first video for fun during the Covid lockdown.
But then they decided to upload more content together to inspire others who may be in age gap relationships and help them feel comfortable.
David said it had been an “interesting” experience and overall feedback had been positive.

However, that’s not always the case. Jackie has been called a gold digger or a green card digger, with David referred to as a “grandpa”.
He said while he pays most of the bills, Jackie has a job at a local chemist to help support her family in the Philippines.
The pair said something amazing happened when they met and that was all that mattered.
