Wedding guest’s see-through $19 dress lashed online

A woman who wore a see-through white dress to a friend’s wedding has copped a major lashing online for her “outrageous” outfit.

Biggest wedding fails!

A woman who wore a see-through white dress to a friend’s nuptials has been copping intense backlash for breaking the “unspoken rule” of attending a wedding.

The wedding guest was criticised online after a photo of her wearing the “outrageous” outfit, believed to be an $18.97 dress from AliExpress, was shared to a popular Facebook group.

Wearing white to a wedding has long been deemed “bad form” by etiquette experts as it “distracts from the bride” on her big day.

It’s often seen as a deliberate move to sabotage or ruin a big day – and is an act regularly committed by a “jealous” new mother-in-law.

This is a stance many agreed with, as thousands lamented over the guest’s outfit choice, a see-through number that proved a bit much for some, The Sun reports.

It featured a white bodysuit with a sheer fabric over the top and a thigh-high slit. Long white ruffles also flowed down the back, giving the slight appearance of a train, a detail favoured by many brides.

A snap of the guest was shared online where she was roasted for the risque outfit.

“That is not that (sic) bride. And yes, that seems to be a body suit under the gauze fabric.

“It was pretty. The lady was gorgeous and edgy. But that’s not what you wear to a friend’s wedding, in my opinion,” the post read.

People agreed the dress was totally inappropriate for a wedding, and not just because of the colour.

“That is not ‘beautiful and edgy’ That is what you wear to the pool,” one replied.

“Looks more like a bathing suit and cover up than something you should be wearing to a wedding,” a second agreed.

And another joked: “Is she lost? Did she have one too many Pina Coladas at the swim up bar and decide to see what all the hub bub was about?”

Meanwhile, other people were shocked that anyone would wear white to a wedding, no matter the style of dress.

“Y’all are getting too comfortable wearing white to weddings it shocks me without fail every time,” one lamented.

“There is so much wrong with that outfit I don’t have the energy to even begin,” someone else slammed.

However, some defended the dress, though argued it’s not the right choice to wear it to the wedding.

“It’s really cute, but she should’ve worn a different colour and different shoes,” one argued.

“It could be a light blue or a mauve – maybe it just looks white in the lighting,’ another scoffed.

The “mesh ruffled” dress on AliExpress comes in an array of colours, including blue, red and pink.
