The great-grandma who married a man 42-years younger after meeting on Facebook has issued a scathing statement about her now-ex.

A pensioner who recently split from her toyboy husband has claimed she dumped her much younger lover for being a “selfish money grabber”.

Iris Jones, 83, married Egyptian native Mohamed Ibriham, 37, after meeting on Facebook in 2019.

After “falling in love” the pair – who have a 46-year age gap – decided to get married the following year, The Sun reported.

However, their fairytale union has reportedly fizzled out after the great grandmother slammed her former lover in a lengthy Facebook post, claiming he asked for money throughout their four year relationship – despite an official at the British Embassy urging her “not to give him [Mohamed] any money”.

During her first visit to Egypt to see Ibriham, Jones alleged she gave him £15,000 ($AU 29,319) in cash.

“I had about £40,000 ($AU 78,173) in my bank account and I handed over my bank card to Mohamed every day and we were drawing 1000 Egyptian pounds daily,” she claimed.

“This was to pay for living expenses, eating out, a honeymoon in Sharm el-Sheikh and generally enjoying the high life.”

Upon returning to the UK, the pensioner claimed she discovered that her partner had taken a further £20,000 ($AU 39,086) after telling her she “should have about nine grand in there”.

“He was absolutely correct. £9,000 (A$17,592) left of the £40,000 (A$78,173).

“Mohamed has never had a job and has never had any money.

“I used to say to people that we shared expenses, but my money paid for everything.”

In November 2021, Ibriham obtained a spousal visa and was able to travel to the UK where he was allowed to stay for two years, pending a review in two months’ time.

Subsequent hefty hand-outs amounting to £40,000 (A$78,173) followed, leaving Jones financially on her knees, The Sun reports.

“I told him: ‘no more money. If I dropped dead tomorrow, I wouldn’t have enough to bury me’,” she wrote.

“He did say at that stage that he needed another £40,000 (A$78,173).

“Well, you will have to whistle for it because I haven’t got it”.

After a tumultuous few years, Jones decided to call time on her relationship with Mohamed.

The pensioner ended her bombshell statement by revealing she couldn’t say much more due to legal constraints.

“From Mohamed’s behaviour, I learned that he was displaying many of the traits of narcissism,” she alleged.

“I researched the condition thoroughly, as I wanted to save my marriage, but Mohamed wouldn’t listen.

“He was always right, I was always wrong. On June 13 of this year, after another vitriolic row, I told him to go.

“It was one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make, as my love for Mohamed was genuine but it was no good pretending that things would improve.

“I let my head rule my heart. There is so much more I could say at this point but that will be for another post.”

The pair rose to social media fame when Jones shared intimate X-rated details of her “passionate and kinky” sex life with Ibriham.

During a tell-all interview announcing their shock break-up in July, Jones said their sex life had dwindled in recent months.

“I adored everything about Mohammed. But it became hard work,” she told Closer.

“We used to have a great sex life but then, rather than making love, we ended up arguing all the time about anything and everything.

“I can’t be doing with that. I’m not a lovesick teenager. I’m 83.”

To ease the pain of the relationship breakdown, Jones decided to get a new cat who has turned out to be the “perfect companion”.

“He never complains, is very quiet and beautiful to look at. I adore him. He’s very happy here and doesn’t create an mess.”
