TikTok star shares sweet relationship update

A woman who went viral two years ago has shared a sweet update on the situation.

A former radio producer has shared a sweet update about her relationship after she went viral for revealing her father acted as her wingman to secure her a date.

Alice James took to social media filming her sitting at “this exact same bar at this exact same table” two years ago where she was sitting having a drink with her dad.

“Hey Alice, have you seen how good looking that bloke is at the bar,” her father Darren re-enacted in the clip.’

Alice then panned the camera to show her boyfriend, revealing “this was him”.

“And now, we’re going to be together forever,” Alice said, flashing her engagement ring before she and Michael shared a kiss.

Social media users erupted in congratulations as Alice had documented the first meeting and subsequent dates on her account.

“OMG I remember when you first spoke about this,” one person commented.

Another said: “Dad better be best man, flower dad and celebrant!”

“OMG I remember seeing the original video! the algorithm brought us all back. Congratulations,” another said.

Alice said when the pair first met at the bar that night two years ago, Michael was so nervous he actually gave his number to Darren instead. The next day, Alice texted jokingly apologising for her father’s behaviour.

Michael proposed while the pair were walking their dog along the Yarra river in Melbourne, something the pair did regularly.

“We stopped at a little secluded spot by the river and then he gave me a cuddle and told me how much he loved me – which he does quite a lot so I still had no idea,” she told Daily Mail Australia.

“It wasn’t until he dropped to one knee that I clicked what was happening. I burst into tears of happiness and dropped to my knees and gave him the biggest hug ever!”

“Three weeks ago I made the decision to get off all the dating apps – I just wasn’t having fun, I was feeling like c**p and it was taking it’s toll,” she said at the time.

“Fast forward, last week I was with my dad at the local pub, having a drink and talking sh*t and Dad was like ‘I don’t know if you notice but there is a real hottie sitting at the bar,’” she said.

A month later, she broke the news to her dad the pair were officially a couple, calling the man she met at the pub her boyfriend.
