A newlywed couple were left horrified after their videographer accidentally sent them footage of himself insulting wedding guests – calling them “f***ing mugs”.

Lois Ghost-Adderley and husband Lee, both 28, were left shocked after the unedited video from their big day was sent to them by filmmaker James David.

In a clip from the wedding video, the videographer can be heard calling their friends and family “f***ing mugs” and saying: “What the f**k [is] wrong with these people?”

His behaviour only came to light after he sent the raw footage to the couple a year after their wedding in Faversham, Kent, in southeast England.

The pair tied the knot at the countryside setting in August 2021 and received their wedding video shortly afterwards.

But when it arrived the pair were not completely happy with the package, which cost close to $3000.

Ms Ghost-Adderley said: “We booked the company quite last-minute, but we received the video back very quickly.

“I had some niggles [about the film] as a lot of the footage was of plus-ones and very little of my family.

“That said, we were still very happy after our wedding celebrations and I didn’t want to rock the boat, so we didn’t complain.”

Just over a year later, in October 2022, the couple, who were then expecting their first child, were contacted by Mr David to let them know he would be deleting their video off a sharing website.

The couple jumped at the chance to request a very important clip that had been missing from the original footage.

Ms Ghost-Adderley added: “He messaged us to check if we would like to download anything before he took the footage down, so we took it as an opportunity to ask if he had the footage from our first dance that included the original audio.

“He said he did, and could in fact send us all raw footage for an additional $185.

“We had already paid $2980 for his services and felt like this was a bit steep, but it meant a lot to us to have this footage so we agreed.”

After receiving the footage shortly before the birth of their daughter, the couple finally managed to watch it.

“One delightful video jumped out to us, which is of our friends and family,” Mr Adderley said.

“You can hear James in the background stating to his girlfriend/photographer, ‘What is wrong with these people? F***ing mugs,’ in relation to our wedding guests.

“It does leave a sour taste in the mouth when we look back at everything now.”

Mr David is the managing director of James David Films.

When approached for comment, Mr David said he would be contacting the couple to apologise.

He said: “Unfortunately these things happen – little slips happen and I must take responsibility; there’s not much more I can do.

“I will be moving forward with my team; my guys will be getting in contact to resolve the situation.

“We can only apologise and take responsibility. We will be sending a letter of apology in the next couple of days and dealing with the matter privately.”
