Man pops the questions using a billboard in Auckland

MEN and women around the world are popping the question in some pretty creative ways, think billboards, beaches and playing cards.

A MAN has popped the question in a less than private way in Auckland by taking out a billboard.

The billboard shows two birds on a line with the bigger bird holding a ring with the words:

“Hey Sasha, y’know how we’ve got 3 daughters, a house, some goldfish & a lemon tree ... how about we get married?”

The smaller bird responds “Oh Mark, I thought you would never ask”.

The proposal was on social media straight away with local website stuff.co.nz reporting the couple were too shy to do an interview.

This is only one in a long line of over-the top proposals to have come to the attention of the public, largely in part thanks to social media.

In 2008 a man travelled through Japan to spell out “Marry Me?” using GPS data, his girlfriend not only said yes but he has now set the bar for the biggest marriage proposal using GPS data.

Instagram is littered with pretty creative and romantic marriage proposals that think outside the box.

But things don’t always go as planned, as one Chinese man found out when he bought 99 iPhones as part of a bizarre proposal, to which his girlfriend said no.
