Tammy Hembrow seen at Aussie beach after engagement backlash

Tammy Hembrow has been spotted in public for the first time since her engagement sparked uproar online.
The Gold Coast fitness influencer announced her engagement to reality TV star Matt Zukowski on the weekend after just three months of dating.
But while Hembrow was clearly elated by her “plot twist”, which came less than a year after she split from her ex-fiance Matt Poole, the mum-of-three’s usually supportive followers widely panned her latest pledge to wed.
Many weighed in on the couple’s engagement, labelling it an “insane” decision, and joking “third time’s a charm”.
The uproar was so widespread, fellow influencers defended her, with one urging people to “get a grip” and to stop “judging”.
Hembrow has yet to comment publicly on the backlash to her happy news, but the 29-year-old has just been spotted enjoying a trip to the beach.
Wearing a skimpy red and orange bikini at Snapper Rock, Australia’s biggest influencer was seen enjoying a dip in the ocean, presumably to cool off in the rising summer heat.
Her short blonde bob was tied back with a white scrunchie, and Hembrow accessorised with small sunnies.
In one photo, Hembrow – who has more than 17 million followers on Instagram – can be seen walking across the sand before then plunging into the water.
Another snap shows her wet hair slicked back as she exits the sea, before she then takes a seat on her towel and snaps a few selfies.
On Sunday she shared the heartwarming moment Zukowski, who previously appeared on Love Island Australia, proposed to her while on holiday in the Maldives.
“Never in my life have I felt so safe, so loved, so understood, so cared for,” she captioned the footage.
“What a plot twist you were.”
Zukowski popped the question during their island getaway with the pair surrounded by candles inside a heart built into the sand.
The touching clip sparked a vicious war of words in the comments section, which psychologist Carly Dober told news.com.au contained “misogynistic undertones”.
“Not all relationships last or are meant to last; it doesn’t mean they weren’t good or successful. It can be difficult enough to sit with a relationship that hasn’t worked the way you like it too, without judgement,” she pointed out.
Dober also said any judgments made about Hembrow’s inability to parent mostly stem from other people’s values that shouldn’t be used against people.
“Her motherhood capabilities and her relationship with her children can be separate from the relationship she has with other people, and we as a general public do not know how she integrates people into her children’s lives,” she said.
Zukowski has previously said he’s “never been happier”, adding he hoped he’d found his “forever love” in Hembrow.
“Everything’s looking good in my life, I’m keeping busy, keeping my mind busy so I’m very happy at the moment,” the 28-year-old told 9Entertainment in November.
“I am very loved up. Yes, I’m very in love.”
