Macca’s workers quit US restaurant with brutal note

In a now viral TikTok, employees at one US McDonald’s have shared the savage way they quit their jobs at the fast food giant.

A TikTok showing the moment staff at one US McDonald’s all quit en masse has gone viral, with people praising the employees for showing “solidarity”.

In a video that’s been viewed 13.9 million times, TikTok user @zoey.isback shared how the branch’s staff had all walked out “unexpectedly”.

Zoey shared a note which read: “Everyone quit we are closed.”

Footage showed staff standing outside the McDonald’s, leaving no-one behind the counter with orders waiting to be filled and customers waiting.

“Well that happened today and it was so funny,” she captioned the video.

The video drew both applause and questions from viewers with many saying they were glad to see “worker solidarity” and the move “doesn’t surprise”.

“I’m glad everyone quit,” one person wrote. “That tells me more about (a) terrible place there than the employees.”

“I wish this would happen more often,” another commented. “I wouldn’t even be mad if I walked in as a customer.”

Others said if this happened at their local Macca’s “I would scream HELL YEAH! And go somewhere else”.

“I’ve always wanted to be a part of a workplace where everyone can quit and we all walk out and leave the managers to do the job,” another said.

In response to questions about what prompted the walkout, Zoe claimed she and the other employees hadn’t quit because of their wages but bad conditions.

“The store was (run) by teenagers and it was a terrible work space. The higher ups had trouble helping us when needed,” she wrote, according to Indy100.

“It’s a bad job to start with but that’s where most teenagers start for experience so that’s where I put myself.”

‘No-one wants to work anymore’: Brutal Macca’s sign

Back in April, a sign posted on the drive-through order speaker at another McDonald’s in the United States also went viral.

It read: “We are short staffed.

“Please be patient with the staff that did show up.

“No one wants to work anymore.”

The sign was shared in a TikTok posted by user @brittanyjade903 with the caption: “Y’all. Our McDonald’s is savage AF.”

The video has received a huge reaction online, with many empathising with the employees still left and praising the sign for being “honest”.

“So true, don’t get mad at the ones there working. They aren‘t the reason it’s short staffed,” one person wrote.

“It’s sad because it’s true. We’ve been trying to hire people at our restaurant and no one wants to work,” another said.

“Nobody wants to come to work atm, it’s a problem every business has right now … that’s what happens when everyone is still getting unemployment and refusing to work,” one woman added.
