‘Your body my choice’: Abbie Chatfield calls out ‘disgusting’ trend
Abbie Chatfield has taken to social media to share the “disgusting” trend that has emerged within the last 12 hours.
Influencer Abbie Chatfield has called out the “sexism and misogyny” that she’s claimed has emerged because of Donald Trump winning the US election.
The 29 year old took to social media to share that she feels men now feel “emboldened to share sexist rhetoric” in light of the election results.
Ms Chatfield shared a comment left by a man on a previous TikTok she uploaded, in which he wrote, “Your body my choice,” in response to her posting that she wasn’t happy that Mr Trump got elected.
The comment is about the fact that the conservative-dominated Supreme Court of the United States, which Mr Trump played a crucial role in putting together, overturned the landmark 1973 Roe v Wade decision in 2022.
Roe had protected women’s right to a termination on a nationwide scale a for half a century, but the court ruled that individual states can now elect to permit or restrict the procedure based on a democratic vote at a state level.
Currently, 13 states are enforcing bans at all stages of pregnancy, with some exceptions. Four more bar abortion in most cases after about six weeks of pregnancy — before women often know they’re pregnant.
In August, Mr Trump claimed on social media his administration would be “great for women and their reproductive rights” but hasn’t elaborated much further.
Ms Chatfield meanwhile has dealt with a deluge of questionable comments.
“The amount of trolling I’ve gotten in the last 12 hours is beyond disgusting, and it is by uneducated, disgusting pig men,” she said.
Ms Chatfield claimed that the election results teach men the wrong lesson.
“It is going to become Andrew Tate supporters everywhere you f**king look,” she said.
Andrew Tate is a social media influencer who is a self-proclaimed “misogynist” and has been dubbed the king of “toxic masculinity” and has over nine million followers on X.
He was arrested in Romania in 2023 on human trafficking charges. He has claimed he is not guilty.
He was also a vocal supporter of Mr Trump online and has claimed he’ll be moving back to the US.
Ms Chatfield claimed she’s already seeing the world becoming more sexist since the election which happened less than 72 hours ago.
“The sexism, misogyny and the lack of education. This is going to have such a huge impact and I’ve already seen it personally,” she said. “Women are being called stupid, hysterical.”
Ms Chatfield said comments like “your body my choice” is the perfect example of why women are so “upset” and why the US election results are impacting women across the world.
