Teen charged with cheerleader’s murder after Snapchat photo in back of police car
A 14-year-old reportedly shared a Snapchat from a police car asking where a missing 13-year-old girl was before being charged with her murder.
A Snapchat of a teen flashing a peace sign and asking “has anyone seen Tristyn lately?” is being investigated after a 14-year-old was charged with her murder.
Tristyn Bailey was last seen in Florida, on Sunday morning after being reported missing by her family at 10am.
Aiden Fucci, 14, was arrested on Sunday evening and on Monday was charged with second-degree murder.
Fucci was a fellow student at the school that Tristyn went to.
A photograph that was circulating on social media following 13-year-old Bailey’s death appeared to show a teenager in the back of a cop car, holding up a peace sign with the caption “hey guys has inybody [sic] seen Tristyn lately.”
During a police press conference the sheriff said officials were aware of the photo, The Sun reports.

She was last seen at roughly 1.15am near the a huge amenities centre where there was a pool, gym and playground, according to reports.
Neighbours helped officials to search for the teenager and on Sunday night a body believed to be Tristyn’s was found.
“This was not the outcome the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office wanted, or this community (wanted),” Sheriff Robert Hardwick said.
“This is a grieving community and we’re going to respect our grieving community.”
Hardwick confirmed that Tristyn’s body was fully clothed, but her cause of death was not revealed.
The St Johns County Sheriff’s Office said that they “do not believe there is a threat at this time” asking the community to “stand down” from the search.
No information on where the body was found was revealed, with Hardwick explaining “this is the early stage of a very, very complex investigation”.
Her sister had earlier posted on social media asking for any information about the cheerleader’s disappearance.
She wrote: “Please check your kids’ accounts for anything that can help us.
“Help us locate our sweet sassy cheer star!! I need my blonde haired twin back.”
A family friend wrote: “RIP sweet girl. Words cannot express our heartbreak.
“Your life was taken tragically too soon and none of us will ever be the same.
“Your kind spirit and infectious laugh will be remembered forever. Watch over us all beautiful angel.”
A photo showing an unidentified teen in the back of a police car was shared on Sunday and has widely gone viral. Officials have confirmed the image is now part of the investigation according to a report by local outlet news4jax.
In the photo, the unhandcuffed teen has his hands in the peace sign with the caption: “Hey guys has inybody (sic) seen Tristyn lately.”
The report states the teenager is the 14-year-old boy charged with Tristyn’s murder, Aiden Fucci.
