A TikTok video has gone viral, with Kmart customers sharing the reasons they shop at the retail store in the middle of the night.

Kmart shoppers have revealed the reasons they shop at the retailer in the middle of the night.

TikToker Daniel Du filmed customers at Kmart Burwood’s 24-hour store and asked “what brings them into Kmart” at 1am in the morning.

In the two short clips, consumers gave a variety of reasons they shop late at the discount store.

One shopper said he needed to buy a microwave because his old one “ just blew up”.

“I’ve just got a frozen meal because my wife’s gone away on holidays and I don’t know how to cook!,” he said.

Another said he needed to buy new clothes and didn’t have any clean ones.

“I am sort of in between places at the moment and I don’t have any clean clothes and I have been working stupid hours,” he said.

“So here we are at … what time is it? 1.20am … 24-hour Kmart!”

A third customer said they needed to buy furniture while a group of three customers said they’re shopping at the department store to celebrate coming out of isolation.

“Our friend just got out of lockdown, she had Covid and we were bored so we came here,” one of the shoppers said.

“Nothing else to do at 1am to be honest!”

The videos have been viewed two million times, with Kmart customers revealing they love shopping at the store late at night.

“Honestly, I love shopping late at night, it’s so much less stressful,” one person wrote.

“I go because there aren’t many people around, no kids running, crying, screaming,” another user said.

“No waiting in lines. No chaos. And also no bumping into randoms!”
