Star pregnant by stepbrother reveals ‘naked’ wedding dress ordeal
A former Neighbours star currently expecting a child with her stepbrother has revealed her $500k wedding didn’t exactly go to plan.
She spent $500,000 on her lavish international wedding, but that didn’t stop Scarlet Vas from falling foul to a dreaded wardrobe mishap.
The former Neighbours star, who is currently expecting her first child after marrying her stepbrother Tayo Ricci in September last year, has revealed all the things that went wrong at her no-expense spared wedding in Mykonos, Greece.
The bride, who played Mishti Sharma in the popular Aussie soap for a year until the character departed in October 2018, wore a strapless lace gown for the milestone occasion - but said she hit a snag with the weather that left onlookers thinking she was “naked”.
“It was a dress that had lots of layers but it was not sheer, you definitely couldn’t see underneath,” the 29-year-old from Melbourne told news.com.au.
“Ahead of the big day, I had done a million fittings and there were no issues - we even added a bit of a slit.
“But what we didn’t think about was that Mykonos is windy, so when I walked down the aisle, my veil flew off and the dress split open and revealed my underwear.”
Vas went on to explain that along with her dress being “completely open”, giving the couple’s guests an unexpected view of her lingerie, her dad also lost his hat.
But the pair proved they have a killer sense of humour, sharing the video of the wedding day blunder on their popular social media accounts, where Vas said it quickly went viral.
“Everyone thought I had ‘gone naked’ to my wedding,” she continued.
“Some questioned what bride would wear such a revealing dress on their wedding day, with some even asking ‘why is she naked?’
“But it was just the wind which had blown up all the layers, so it looked like I was wearing nothing at the bottom.”
The wedding day admission comes after Vas opened up about her marriage, revealing her pregnancy has attracted criticism because of her family connection to her husband.
Vas and Ricci met as teenagers while growing up in Melbourne, and later became “family” when their parents got together.
But Vas said, despite some calling their relationship “weird” and “gross”, they never let the critics get to them.
“Honestly, it doesn’t affect us because we have each other,” she told news.com.au previously.
“I don’t really read our comments section, but if I do, I actually laugh. We find trolls very entertaining.
“If something’s really negative, we might comment back, we find it is quite a good disarming tactic.”
The pair first went viral in 2021 after revealing they were stepbrother and stepsister but had fallen in love.
The definition of a stepfamily is the “blend” formed when two people come together and bring a child or children from previous relationships.
Vas stressed she and Ricci are “definitely not blood-related”, but added they prefer to keep the specific details of their family connection private out of respect for their parents.
But it hasn’t stopped them from leveraging their family connection on their social media accounts, where they have a combined collective of 35 million followers.
Since then, Vas has launched a successful OnlyFans page, where she claims she earns $200,000 a month – but insists she’s “not a porn star”.
The subscription site is known for being utilised by adult entertainers, but Vas said she’s fed-up with people wrongly assuming she’s selling pornographic content on the platform.

“It’s super annoying, because it doesn’t have to be just a place for porn stars,” the 29-year-old told news.com.au.
“There’s a bad stigma attached to OnlyFans now but it is unfortunate because we get tarnished with the same brush.
“But I am not a porn star of any kind.”
