Rebecca Judd slammed for launching paid subscription service

Melbourne WAG Bec Judd is selling “exclusive content” to subscribers for $7.49-a-month, but the move hasn’t been well received.

Bec Judd announces subscription service

One of Australia’s most well-known WAGs has launched her own subscription service on Instagram.

Rebecca Judd, who has been married to former AFL player Chris Judd since 2010, took to the social media app to announce she had joined the ranks of celebrities who were now charging fans for photos and videos.

For $7.49 a month, followers can get access to “exclusive content”, with the 39-year-old hinting that private stories, group chats, discount codes and beauty tips were to be among them.

She assured her followers that her regular account wouldn’t be going anywhere and this would just be an added bonus for those willing to pay a fee.

Several of her followers immediately signed up for the service, but others were adamant on knowing what would be included before handing over their hard-earned cash.

“People want to know what they get when they subscribe and it’s all so new – it’s only come up on my Instagram today that I was eligible,” the mother-of-four said.

“But I follow some people in America that I can subscribe to so it’s been there for a little while. I think it’s just more ‘day in the life of’ type stuff.

“My Instagram page is very glossy and pretty, and I think my subscriber page will be behind-the-scenes like what really goes on at photo shoots or when I’m designing interiors or furniture.”

She said she looked forward to taking her subscribers along for the journey, and added a benefit of taking the plunge of subscribing was offers through her partners that would be exclusive.

Bec said this could be anything from giveaways, early access to discount codes.

“Another thing is people can’t DM me – only people I am mutuals with can – but if you subscribe you can send me DMs,” she said.

“And I will answer them within reason – but don’t send me 100 DMs today,” she joked.

“I’ll be able to help you guys with fashion and design questions, I’ve already had so many DMs today about what kind of tiles to pick,” she said.

While Bec was excited about giving fans extra content, some social media users online weren’t impressed.

“Wouldn’t be worth a cent,” one remarked on Facebook.

“More cash for ‘juddchella’ I suppose,” another commented, noting the lavish house-warming party she threw when she moved into her $7.3 million Melbourne mansion in 2019.

“Are there people out there who would spend money to look at her content?” another asked.

Others questioned the ethics of charging fans money, with one writing: “Hubby earns big bucks, she has a posh mansion and she’s wanting for cash? Seriously??”
