Social media users are losing their minds over an Aldi Special Buys deal that’s “brought back memories” for hundreds of shoppers.

Social media users are losing their minds after Aldi announced its latest Special Buys deal – one that’s “brought back memories” for hundreds of shoppers.

The budget supermarket shared on Facebook that a three-piece collection of Tupperware containers, and two variations of a cake holder, would be available from tomorrow, October 12.

“Keep the most precious cargo safe and sound with the Tupperware On-The-Go Cake Taker or Classic Canister Set 3pc, perfect for transporting and storing your entertaining staples,” the post read.

Thousands of customers swiftly took to the announcement’s comments, expressing their nostalgia over the offering.

“When these were around in my mum’s kitchen, we had orange and green frilly kitchen curtains,” one woman wrote.

“My first Tupperware party I was 19 and I bought the red freezerware set for when I moved out of home. I still have some and I’m 59 now.”

“You can find these in op shops, they are so old!” wrote another.

“You can tell how old we are when we all get excited about Tupperware and Aldi,” one man commented.

“I’ll be there to get some!”

“The original Tupperware canisters I was talking about wanting last week,” another woman said. “Who’s going to cover for me with the boss so I can sneak away to Aldi on Wednesday morning?”

“Still have my cake carrier (the oblong one). Use it regularly. Had it nearly 50 years still going strong,” commented one.

“That cake carrier carry strap brings back some bad memories of my childhood,” another joked. “My mother had a wicked back swing if we upset her. You definitely felt the sting of that strap.”

According to Aldi’s website, the three-piece set is “perfect for tea, coffee, biscuits and more” and feature Tupperware’s “iconic one-touch, instant seal”. They’re also, unlike the original model, BPA-free.

The Tupperware collection will be available in stores from tomorrow while stocks last.
