Melbourne neighbour’s note on woman’s car over undies dash

A Melbourne woman found a nasty note on her car telling her to “wear appropriate clothing” by a neighbour who saw her outside in her undies.

When nasty windshield notes backfire: "fat piece of sh*t”

A woman has shared the scathing note a neighbour sent imploring her to “wear appropriate clothing” after seeing her step outside her home wearing a jumper and bikini-style bottoms.

Ruby Hill, 19, from Yarra Valley, northeast of Melbourne, shared a photo of the handscrawled letter after it was slipped under her windscreen wiper last week.

However, the teenager had no time for the neighbour’s gripe, slamming the note on the Yarra Valley Noticeboard Facebook page.

“I am so sorry that our massive Great Dane and rottweiler had escaped out of our gate, and considering I was getting ready for my day and wearing an oversized jumper and underwear, I felt it was appropriate to run after them and not take the time to put on pants,” Ruby wrote.

“I had concerns for my dogs’ health and safety … I did not think people would be staring out the windows at me for the total of 15 seconds that I was out there.

“It was a one-off, and if you have a problem shut the curtains!”

Alongside her message she included a photo of the note, written in blue ink, which read: “Please wear appropriate clothing when you are out in the street.

“Some of these homes have young children in them! If you can’t do that, then please park your car further down the street.”

Local residents in the Facebook group were quick to agree with Ruby, with hundreds commenting on the post labelling the move “perverted” and “petty”.

“Forget her and that childish note, it was an emergency. What a petty thing to do. Bet the only reason she’s upset is the other woman looked better,” one said.

“Hey neighbour, mind your own business ya sticky beak,” another wrote.

And another said: “Would she have had a problem if it was a male running around topless? I’m going to say no. Because men are free to walk around half-naked, but women? Oh no! Poor little children might see! Like they haven’t seen their mother naked.”

Ruby later went to the neighbour’s house in an attempt to smooth things over, but when they refused to answer the door decided to leave a note of her own.

“Not my eyes, not my problem,” she scrawled in red ink on a piece of paper.

“As of 7.31pm (30 minutes ago) my post now has 686 people thinking you are an absolute f***head.

“Please see Yarra Valley Noticeboard for some life lessons.”

The return note, obtained by the Daily Mail Australia, went on to slam the neighbour for “sexualising” her and “causing issues” with their kids.

“Children only see skin,” Ruby said.

“It’s the parents who sexualise people that causes issues.

“On a final note, close your blinds, don’t be perverts.”
