Lori Vallow now person of interest in husband’s death, child death investigation continues

Lori Vallow, who is facing charges over the deaths of her two children after falling into a doomsday group, is now facing another police probe.

Lori Vallow, whose two children died 18 months after she joined a doomsday cult, is facing a fresh police probe into the death of her third husband.

The Idaho woman, who has been dubbed the “doomsday cult mum” by US press, as well as her fifth husband Chad Daybell were arrested in February after a weeks-long search for Ms Vallow’s two children.

Ms Vallow’s daughter Tylee Ryan, 17, and her adopted son Joshua ‘JJ’ Vallow, 7, went missing in September last year. Police found their remains on Mr Daybell’s property in June.

Mr Daybell and Ms Vallow are now both in jail awaiting trial over charges of conspiracy to commit destruction, alteration or concealment of evidence, while authorities investigate further charges.

One of those other investigations has been into the death of Ms Vallow’s third husband, Joseph Ryan, who she was married to from 2001 to 2004.

The couple divorced in 2004 and Mr Ryan died in April 2018 from an apparent heart attack.

His body wasn’t found until a week after his death and was later cremated, with Ms Vallow listed as his next of kin at the time despite the couple splitting more than a decade earlier.

US media outlets have now reported that Ms Vallow is under scrutiny from authorities after they received a recording of her allegedly talking about wanting to kill him.

The recording, which has reportedly been provided to the East Idaho News by Mr Ryan’s sister Annie Cushing, allegedly features Ms Vallow saying she would use the Bible to justify her third husband’s death.

In it, Ms Vallow allegedly says: “If he comes against you once, if he comes against you twice, if he comes against you three times then you can kill him, it says it in the scriptures.”

Police have now named Ms Vallow as a person of interest in Mr Ryan’s death, Fox News reports.

SPOUSES DIE IN TRAGIC CIRCUMSTANCES

Both Ms Vallow and Mr Daybell’s previous spouses died suddenly in tragic circumstances in the months prior to the pair tying the knot.

In July last year, Charles Vallow, who had split from Ms Vallow earlier that year, was shot to death by her brother during an alleged altercation at her home.

Mr Daybell’s wife Tammy, 49, died in her sleep in October last year, with her death initially ruled natural causes.

However after an outcry from her family, another autopsy of Ms Daybell’s body was ordered in December, with those results not made public.

Mr Daybell is a religious writer who, like Ms Vallow, is obsessed with the end of the world.

In his 2017 autobiography Living On The Edge Of Heaven, Mr Daybell recounts his deeply religious life inside the Mormon church, however DailyMail.com has reported he was kicked out of the church last year after claiming he was a prophet.

A friend of Ms Vallow’s told Fox 5 she had become obsessed with Mr Daybell’s books years earlier.

“Those books, she got really obsessed with and she started buying me those books too. She must have gotten close to him from his books,” the anonymous friend told the TV station.

The friend also claimed Ms Vallow made comments to her about dying and the end of the world.

“(Ms Vallow would say), ‘It’s gonna be the end of the world and we should all just drive off a cliff and kill us and our kids and die all at the same time,’” the friend said.

MISSING CHILDREN TURN UP DEAD

On September 23 last year Ms Vallow’s children were seen in public for the last time when JJ attended school.

According to People, Ms Vallow then sent the school, where JJ had only been enrolled for three weeks, an email explaining that she had to pull him out so she could move for an out-of-state job.

On October 1, one week after her children were last sighted in public, Ms Vallow began renting a storage unit.

According to East Idaho News the unit was used to store photo albums full of pictures of JJ and Tylee, their bikes, clothing, sports equipment and even her son’s backpack.

Footage shows Ms Vallow making about 10 trips with an unidentified man to the storage unit throughout the month.

Shortly after Mr Daybell and Ms Vallow married in November, police responded to a welfare request for Tylee and JJ.

Visiting their home on November 23, the newlyweds told police the children were staying with a family friend in Arizona, however, their story didn’t check out.

But when police returned to the Idaho home Mr Daybell and Ms Vallow had been living in to question them further, they found the couple had vanished.

Ms Vallow was arrested in February this year, with Mr Daybell rearrested in June after police discovered the children’s bodies on his property.
