‘It’s 50-50 that it’s someone targeting her’: Roxy Jacenko’s poo jogger ‘could have used cafe loo’

A female “poo jogger” has repeatedly defecated outside Roxy Jacenko’s office — and now the cafe next door has dropped a fresh lead.

The female “poo jogger” who has repeatedly defecated in the street outside celebrity publicist Roxy Jacenko’s office ran straight past a cafe where she could have used the loo.

Jacenko posted CCTV footage to her 247,000 Instagram followers last night showing two clips of the woman relieving herself, taken yesterday morning and last Thursday, and asked for help identifying the culprit.

The larger-than-life personality, who stars in the new Channel 10 reality series I Am … Roxy, said the “nimble young blonde” has struck multiple times over the past four weeks, usually between 6am and 6.40am.

With clearly not much else going on, Sydney media descended on the tree-lined street in inner-city Paddington on Tuesday. TV crews and photographers were hot on the trail of the “poo-pertrator”, whose most recent deposit was still lurking in the gutter.

“From the footage I think we may have recognised the woman but it’s not someone we know,” said Sam Gregg, owner of Wolf cafe on the corner a few metres away. “We were open at that point, my wife said she thinks she saw the woman. It’s not one of our customers anyway.”

Mr Gregg said it was a “new one”. “We’ve had poo thrown on Roxy’s before, but no one’s actually done it live,” he said, referring to a number of vandalism incidents over the past two years.

“I’d have no clue (if it was targeted) but if it’s repeat I would say based on where it is, you would think that’s a possibility. It’s 50-50 that it’s someone targeting her. It’s an odd thing to do.”

Mr Gregg said he had talked to a few joggers “who say you do suddenly get overwhelmed if you’re running — it may be the jogger’s identified that that’s the quickest hidden spot to do it”.

But he added, “At 6.30 we’re serving our first coffees. Setting up at that time it’s not uncommon (to see) joggers come past. If you were in real desperate need to go to the toilet we were open, so she could have come and used the toilet. So that would again point to (it being targeted).”

Asked if she thought it was targeted, Jacenko said, “No I definitely don’t. This isn’t targeted, this is a person who’s getting a thrill. Some people have sex on the beach, some people sh*t in the street. This is something people get off on. I get thrills having a vodka and a wedge of lime, others do this.”

Jacenko, who earlier revealed she was closing in on identifying the poo jogger after receiving a “number of leads” that had been passed onto police, said she deleted the Instagram video because “I didn’t want to look at it any more”.

“Within 18 minutes of the video being up it had 6500 comments, not all positive,” she said. “People have kneejerk reactions, there were a few comments that this person definitely has irritable bowel syndrome. If she does why has she come to this street multiple times a day over the course of four weeks? You wear protection if you have that kind of an issue.”

But despite her original post asking, “Do you know who this person is?”, Jacenko said it wasn’t about identifying the woman. “The main aim of putting it on Instagram is so this woman stops,” she said.

“I’m adjacent to a primary school where the kids come out, they play in the park, they run up and down with their scooters. We’re in a residential, tree-lined street, why should we have to walk through s*** to get to work or school? It’s not right. If the Instagram post is enough to make her stop and find her thrills by doing it in her own place of residence or work I’m a happy person.”

She added, “I don’t think you could clearly see who she was, for me it wasn’t necessarily about identifying this individual, it was more you’re doing it in broad daylight, there’s cameras on every facet of this building, stop doing it. It’s not fair. Why should my staff have to walk through s***?”

A NSW Police spokesman confirmed an investigation had commenced but said there had not been any other reports of public defecation in the area.
