Disgraced UK reality star Stephen Bear has taken a $1-an-hour job in prison, after being found guilty of distributing revenge porn.

A disgraced UK reality star, who is currently in prison, earns just $6.60 a week after getting a job packaging tea and coffee for his fellow inmates.

Stephen Bear, 33, who appeared on UK Celebrity Big Brother, was sentenced to 21 months behind bars after he was found guilty in December of two counts of disclosing private sexual photographs and films with intent to cause distress, and two counts of voyeurism, The Sun reports.

Bear uploaded footage on adult content platform OnlyFans of himself and ex-girlfriend Georgia Harrison having sex. While Harrison, who waived her right to anonymity for the trial, testified that the sex was consensual, she was not aware she was being filmed.

Bear was also ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register and will be subject to notification requirements for 10 years.

As well as the job packaging tea and coffee, insiders say he also has a $1.10-an-hour wire-stripping job while at medium security prison HMP Chelmsford.

“Bear has had a big dose of reality,” one source said.

“He’s gone from stupid stunts with a Rolls Royce and fur coats outside court to making packs of tea bags and coffee for three quid a week.

“He is trying to keep himself busy but the other inmates are laughing about him being the ‘tea boy’. Bear is also doing a job pulling wires out from their plastics and that makes him £1.20 [$A2.20] for a two-hour shift.”

Bear was convicted on March 3, having made approximately $73,600 from uploading the private sexual images.

He has been moved to an isolation unit after receiving death threats from other inmates.

Last week, friends said he’d been “crying for days” after struggling to cope with his new life behind bars.

Harrison, who has spoken openly about her experience as a victim of image-based abuse, said she ended up in hospital because she was so distraught over the ordeal.

While her case has “shocked the British public”, Harrison recently told the BBC’s Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg program that incidents like hers are actually “such a common thing”.

“Ever since this happened to me I became someone that victims reach out to, and I get at least five women a day – usually victims but sometimes mothers of victims or family members – who want advice,” she said.

“You just wouldn’t believe how big this is and how many people are affected by it.”
