‘Incredibly distasteful’: Prison guard involved in inmate ‘sex tape’ breaks silence
A prison guard charged over filming an explicit video with an inmate has spoken out, accusing others of “monetising off my misfortune”.
A prison guard accused of having sex with an inmate in an explicit video filmed in a jail cell has hit back at “scammers” for trying to make cash off her notoriety.
Linda De Sousa Abreu said people had fallen for accounts on subscription platform OnlyFans that falsely claimed to be her, The Sun reports.
The 30-year-old, who worked as a guard at HMP Wandsworth in South West London, was charged over the X-rated video last month.
Since the incident, Ms De Sousa Abreu said a number of adult content creators had attempted to recreate the footage, calling the impersonators “incredibly distasteful”.
“I hope that you appreciate this is going to be a very awkward and uncomfortable conversation for me to have,” she said in a video on TikTok.
“I want to clarify a lot of things. There’s been a tremendous amount of fake profiles of me that have been monetising off my misfortune, a scandal that the entire world has somehow managed to be involved in.
“I have not monetised it one single bit. If you do come across fake profiles of me, please don’t fall for it.
“There’s been a lot of GoFundMe pages and OnlyFans accounts that are not me, and I do apologise if you have fallen for it, from the bottom of my heart I apologise.
“I want to address this very distasteful subject of OnlyFans impersonating and pretending to be me and recreating the sad scandal that I am said to be involved in.
“It is incredibly distasteful. Please refrain from tagging HMP Wandsworth, there are other jails in the world.
“You do not know my side of the story. You don’t know who has you, you don’t know who your real friends are until sh*t hits the fan.
“Honestly, family, friends, you need to pick them very carefully, very carefully. You think they have your back and they just don’t. That’s really heartbreaking.”
Ms De Sousa Abreu, who is married, was charged with misconduct in public office.
The West London resident was released on conditional bail and is due to appear at Isleworth Crown Court on July 29.
The inmate in the video was revealed to be Linton Weirich, who is currently serving a sentence of four years and nine months on burglary charges.
