Emily Skye has “shocked” fans with a bold new look, leaving many fans declaring they had to do a “double take” of the Gold Coast influencer.

An Australian fitness star has “shocked” fans with a bold new look, leaving some stating: “I didn’t recognise you.”

Emily Skye ditched her signature dark brown hair for a new campaign for her skincare brand James Cosmetics.

The mum-of-two rocked a Barbie blonde wig in a long bob style to promote the brand’s new “Snowflake Collection”, asking fans: “Should I keep it blonde?”

The photos caused a stir among Emily’s 2.7 million followers, with many telling the Gold-Coast based influencer they had to do a “double take”.

“I couldn’t recognise you there,” one fan commented.

“OMG is that youuuu? Honestly did a double take,” another said.

As another declared: “I didn’t recognise you Emily.”

“OMG I didn’t even know who this was on my feed,” someone else chipped in.

Emily later explained in a series of Instagram Stories some fans were so “shocked” she’s had to reassure them the new hairstyle is a wig, adding it was a “relief” to take it off.

Fans also weighed in on whether they thought 37-year-old Emily should go blonde, or keep her long brown hair.

Many argued her natural colour enhanced her blue eyes and features.

“You look amazing dark and makes your eyes seem bluer,” one commented.

“Brunette hair definitely highlights your gorgeous features more than the blonde,” another agreed.

Others said the blonde was “hot” and said she should give it a go.

“Looks soooo good so hot I can’t deal,” one said.

“OMG I LOVE THIS on you!!” another agreed.

As another stated: “Wow you looking amazing blonde. I didn’t recognise you.”

Many more showered Emily with compliments over the new look, stating she looked “stunning” and “gorgeous” in the snaps.

Emily launched James Cosmetics with business partner Sam Mangan in 2017. The Australian owned beauty brand specialises in “luxury face masks” but also sells hair products and serums.

Alongside her beauty brand, the social media star – who is a qualified personal trainer – also runs her own fitness program Emily Skye Fit.

She’s loved by fans for “keeping it real”, particularly since becoming a mother, where she’s shared her authentic fitness journey through “real” photos of her post-partum body.
