Bride defends groom’s wedding act in viral TikTok video

A bride has defended her husband after a video of his wedding “prank” went viral, causing concern as many believe it’s a “red flag”.

Groom slams bride in the face with wedding cake

A video showing a groom slamming his bride with cake on their wedding day has left many furious.

In the clip, which the US couple recently uploaded to TikTok, the bride can be seen playfully smothering a bit of icing on her partner’s face.

But it’s the groom’s reaction – that some have described as “aggressive” – that has left many feeling concerned.

As the bride steps to the side, her partner then grabs their entire three-teir wedding cake, and with both hands slams it into the right side of her face.

The impact of the hurl causes her to stumble towards a nearby chair.

However, she has defended his actions after the clip went viral with thousands of people describing his act as a “red flag”.

“That’s not only aggressive but so embarrassing??? If he’s comfortable doing that in front of all her friends and fam … scar,” one person wrote.

“Oh hell no!!!! Major red flag,” a second person said, while a third added: “You can literally see his mood change to anger and he threw that cake, leave him sis.”

But the bride said she found it humorous.

“This is us and it was funny to everyone,” she wrote on the clip which has since been viewed almost 3 million times.

“I’m sorry that you have a different sense of humour.”

She also added that she “wasn’t embarrassed”.

Following the backlash, the bride shared another video – a montage of loved-up snaps of the pair to try and ease the criticism.

“They both found it funny … it’s none of anyone else’s business,” one TikTok user wrote, defending the couple.

“As long as you’re happy, that’s what matters,” added another.

However, many still weren’t convinced, saying she wasn’t the “problem”.

“Girl we believe you love him. It’s the other way around for us. This is scary because that’s not love. No matter how many ‘couple photos’ you post,” one person said.

“If you have the whole internet worried … there’s probably a reason for it. People aren’t hating, we are genuinely concerned,” added another.

On woman said that she and her husband also “smashed cake” on each other’s face at their wedding, pointing out that there was a difference.

“But the way his face looks angry and he throws the whole cake … yeah, no.”

“This is incredibly sad. It’s not a prank, was disrespectful and kind of embarrassing for you even if you don’t see that.”

The couple have since updated their TikTok profile with, “A CAKE never hurt anyone”.
