Abbie Chatfield hits back over backlash to holiday act

She’s currently enjoying a European holiday – but this snap of Abbie Chatfield living her best life has rubbed some up the wrong way.

Abbie ‘upsets men all over the world’ with menu issue

Abbie Chatfield has hit back at a follower who labelled her “anti-feminist” for enjoying alcohol while on holiday.

The outspoken influencer turned radio host is currently enjoying an Easter getaway in Europe with boyfriend Konrad Bien-Stephens.

During her luxury stays in the UK and Italy, Abbie has shared photos of herself indulging in a few cocktails, something one female follower has taken issue with.

The disgruntled follower bombarded the 26-year-old with messages about her alcohol choices, claiming the decision to promote drinking was “anti-feminist” as alcohol is the “patriarchy’s biggest tool”.

Abbie regularly calls out sexist double standards, most regularly making global headlines for pointing out separate menus for men and women in some Italian restaurants were a product of the patriarchy.

“Why are okay with getting paid alcohol promotions that harm women? And you claim to be a feminist? Alcohol is the patriarchy’s biggest tool,” the person wrote.

“Abbie why are you promoting and endorsing cancer through alcohol consumption to your young and impressionable following?” she continued in a second comment.

“Being the vaccine public health QUEEN I’m sure you know the other dangerous stats young woman face?? Where are you in regards to that?”

Abbie shared a screenshot of the relentless messages, which also aggressively said: “Abbie I’m not going away.”

However, Abbie wasn’t having a bar of it.

“Get a grip, I like a drink, maybe go and get vaccinated,” she responded, adding she should ‘unfollow’ her account.

Clearly unfazed by the barrage of criticism, Abbie continued to share snaps of herself enjoying a drink while catching up with friends in Scotland, UK.

She also shared a photo of herself “sculling” an Aperol Spritz.

Last week, Abbie angered Italian men after calling her menu in a Venice restaurant “sexist” because it didn’t have prices while the one Konrad was handed did.

“Only men get a menu with prices? PATRIARCHY,” she said in a now viral TikTok video.

Many of the local men argued it was “tradition” and that she needed to “respect” their way of life – but Abbie wasn’t having a bar of it.

“I have made the Italian news because I spoke about getting a menu without prices and now I have lots of angry Italian men in my DMs saying I need to ‘get some class’ because I dared say I should know how much I’m paying,” she explained in an Instagram Story.

But while she claimed men were branding her “ignorant and selfish” for calling out the practice – women were on her side.

“The Italians are continuing to come after me and I am being tagged in stories saying ‘go home’,” she explained.

“Umm, sorry I wanted to know what prices I was paying for the meals.

“A lot of sexist men are in my DMs saying it isn’t about gender but calling it a ‘ladies menu’. So it is a sexist notion. Sorry, the notion is sexist – get a grip.”
