A Woolies shopper was taken by surprise after she found an unexpected note in a deli buy.

The NSW woman took to Facebook to reveal that she often likes to leave positive messages for staff when placing her online orders.

However, never did she expect one back.

In her post, the woman said she found a handwritten note on her packet of salami which read:

“Thank you for your note, hope you have an awesome day too. Love, Deli Girls.”

Shocked by the kind gesture, she then took to the Woolworths’ official Facebook page, to further thank the “deli girls”.

“I always try and leave a message for the hardworking staff at my local Woolworths stores (Tweed and Tweed City) when I do an online shop. Lovely to receive a message back too from the deli team at Woolies @ Tweed. The online shop direct to car boot was great!” she wrote.

One of the store’s deli workers spotted her Facebook post and wrote how her “beautiful message brightened our deli day”, to which the customer responded: “Well done guys. Always appreciate all the hard work you and your colleagues do.”

Even Woolies chimed in saying it was “so delighted” to see she found a “little note surprise” while unpacking her groceries.

“It’s amazing to hear that your experience was great!” Woolies added about her Direct to Boot Online order.

It’s not the first time a supermarket staffer has gone the extra mile for a customer.

Last week, a Coles shopper was almost brought to tears after she witnessed a “beautiful” act of kindness from a cashier.

In a Facebook post, the woman revealed how the young staffer whipped out his phone to pay for an elderly customer’s groceries after she struggled to pay.

“While waiting in line at my local Coles supermarket, the elderly lady in front of me was having trouble paying with her debit card,” the shopper wrote on Coles’ official Facebook page on Wednesday.

“It declined twice and she was confused at why it wasn’t working. A beautiful young boy working on the checkout told her it’s OK, ‘I’ll fix it for you’, and proceeded to pay for it using his own phone to access his account.

“He didn’t look for thanks or acknowledgment in any way. I wanted to cry at witnessing the absolute care and generosity of a fabulous young man called Michael.”

The customer said she made sure to tell the store’s supervisor of the cashier’s sweet act.
