An bodybuilder has hit back after people slammed her for posing in a bikini in front of her teenage son.
Sophie Guidolin, who is based on the Gold Coast, took to Instagram last week to share a video of herself posing in a brown and white polka dot bikini.
She posed in various positions in the swimsuit while her teenage son walked in behind her.
“POV your mama is a IFBB bikini pro,” Sophie wrote over the video.
Alongside the clip, she wrote a message about how posing in front of her son in a swimsuit shouldn’t be an issue.
“LOL remember when the media tried to shame me for wearing a bikini in front of my son forgetting I was an #ifbbbikinipro and I do this as a sport,” she said.
“My son doesn’t sexualise my body so why do others? This, my friends, is 13 years of hard work.”
The 34-year-old mother-of-four, who is the founder of leading online health and fitness program The Bod, was referring to when she shared several snaps of her son Kai in celebration of his 15th birthday in 2022.
One of them included a now viral image of her wearing a green leopard print bikini while hugging the teen.
However, some of her half a million followers had a “problem” with the photo saying it was “too sexualised”.
Her latest social media post once again garnered mixed reactions.
“All I can see is hard work and dedication. Your son would be proud,” one social media user said.
Another said: “His ‘I don’t care’ face. So awesome.”
“Wait so we can’t wear a bikini to the beach with our sons? Well damn society just sucks then,” another said.
“THE BODY herself, amazing in every way, you’re such an inspiration Soph,” one added.
But others stood firm in their response and said it wasn’t appropriate.
One social media user commented: “I promise you it’s weird. The last thing I’d want to see is my mum in a thong – let alone doing it to post on social media saying how I’m OK with it and all my friends see it. Creepy.”
