Aussie influencer’s baby announcement roasted

Fans of an Aussie influencer with 1 million followers have leapt to her defence after her baby announcement was savagely roasted online.

Jade Tunchy announces she is pregnant

A divisive influencer has announced she is expecting her first child with her husband of a year, but their announcement has raised eyebrows online.

Jadé ‘Tunchy’ Tuncdoruk and Lachie Brycki tied the knot in a lavish Hunter Valley ceremony in October 2022, after announcing their engagement in January 2021.

Jadé, who has 424,000 followers on TikTok and another 519,000 on Instagram, took to social media to announce the couple were expecting their first child in June.

In the clip, Jadé appears stunned as she looks at a positive pregnancy test and raised her hand to her mouth in shock before cutting to a onesie with two positive pregnancy tests on it.

Lachie then walked into the room, while Jadé was in tears, and saw what she had put on the bed. He looked at her, without saying a word, and she nodded.

He also started to get emotional and immediately held his wife and kissed her stomach.

“I love you,” he told her. “I love you sweet, sweet girl.”

The couple then showed their first ultrasound before the video was complete.

However, their baby reveal has drawn a lot of negativity after it was posted on Influencer Updates Australia, forcing some of Jadé’s fans to leap to her defence.

“Why are so many people c******g on them???? I thought this was soooo cute,” one social media user said.

Another said: “Wild how many negative comments are on here. I posted a super similar video when we fell pregnant with our first baby three years ago and it’s still one of my favourite videos and memories of my life.

“It might not be everyone’s cup of tea to post moments like this of their lives, but it’s her page and she has a beautiful memory to look back on forever now.”

“So shocked at all the negative comments wtf,” another added.

“They are both literally over the moon and speechless, sharing their REAL reactions. What is wrong with people. I personally couldn’t be happier for them.”

However, that didn’t stop those from sharing their negative opinions, accusing the video of being staged.

“And the Oscar for the worst actor and actor goes to,” one person commented.

Another said: “Cringiest thing I have ever witnessed.”

“On today’s episode of Home and Away,” another said.

“I thought the first clip of her looked very staged, but the second one of her crying looked genuine,” one added.

Last year, the Sydney influencer found herself in hot water resulting in Uber Eats and Cadbury publicly cutting ties with her after it was revealed she had gone on a social media rant about foreign food delivery drivers.

She also copped backlash after she publicly pressured a small business into giving her a refund on a non-refundable accommodation deposit.

Cadbury, who had previously paid Tuncdoruk to promote their Caramilk ice cream on Instagram, said at the time it would no longer work with the influencer as a result of her comments going viral.

The confectionary company followed suit, stating in a statement to news.com.au that Tuncdoruk’s views “don’t reflect our values”.

The uproar was over a 2017 Facebook post Tuncdoruk made to Uber Eats about their “annoying non-English speaking delivery drivers” which had resurfaced, prompting the influencer to issue an apology over the complaint.

The resurfaced Facebook post was shared by Instagram influencer watchdog account Celeb Spellcheck, who just days earlier revealed Tuncdoruk had used her followers to pressure a small business into giving her a $2000 refund on an accommodation deposit.

In the now-deleted post, Tuncdoruk told her followers she had requested a refund from Weekenda, “but they said the best they could do was put it back up online to be booked by someone else”.

Weekenda later spoke out about the incident, accusing Tuncdoruk of trying to “bypass the rules all of our other guests (and she) had agreed to, by using her social influence to put pressure on us”.
