World’s tallest dog breaks world record as oldest living great dane
Freddy the great dane is celebrating another towering milestone, with the world’s biggest pooch now breaking another Guinness World Record.
Being named the world’s tallest dog is no small feat but it looks like Freddy the great dane is celebrating another towering milestone.
The very good boy celebrated his eighth birthday last month, making him the oldest known great dane in the world.
Freddy was previously named the world’s tallest dog by the Guinness World Records in 2016, with the record holders group confirming he is now the oldest great dane too.

The gigantic pooch’s owner Claire Stoneman now plans to apply for an official record naming Freddy the world’s oldest great dane.
Weighing 95kg, Freddy is a whopping 2.25m tall when standing on his hind legs.
Freddy, from Norfolk in the United Kingdom, celebrated his birthday with a party at home alongside his sister Fleur who was born just seconds after him.

“Freddy and Fleur had a great birthday party and they both had the best time. We decorated the garden and they got loads of their favourite treats and cuddly toys,” Ms Stoneman said.
Life as the world’s biggest dog does mean Freddy doesn’t live quite the normal pet life.
Ms Stoneman has to walk Freddy and Fleur early in the morning to avoid drawing large crowds because of their sizes.
“Everyone is always shocked by their size and some people are intimidated; they say it’s like I’m walking a horse down the street,” she said.
It is also expensive being the world’s biggest dog, with Freddy’s food costing Ms Stoneman a whopping $896 a week for beef mince, chicken, treats and dry dog food.
But despite his intimidating size and costly appetite, Ms Stoneman insists Freddy is just a big friendly giant with a sensitive soul.
“Despite their size, they’re very kind-natured and put their paws on you if they know you’re upset,” she said.

“They love cuddling and I sleep with them on two mattresses in the living room at night.”
His best friend is seven-year-old neighbour Erin Manley who has known Freddy her whole life.
Despite Freddy towering over Erin her dad Pete Manley said the little girl has “always been close” to the great dane.
“He’s so big that he towers over her. She cuddles up to him on the settee to watch television and he just towers over her, but they have a very sweet relationship,” he said.
