Cocoa Puff the enormous rabbit is so big, the two-year-old giant is almost the size of its human siblings when it sits at the dining table.

When Cocoa Puff the enormous rabbit stretches out alongside owner Macy Smith, he’s almost as big.

The two-year-old continental giant breed weighs in at 9kg and loves tackling his human siblings Macy, 4, and Hunter, 7.

Cocoa Puff has nearly 300,000 followers on Instagram, is house-trained and doesn’t live in a cage in his Seattle home in Washington.

Mum Lindsay Smith said giant rabbits were great with kids.

“We could not believe from day one how tolerant and how calm he was with my kids,” Ms Smith told Inside Edition.

“From day one, Macy and Cocoa Puff had a really special relationship. She would follow him around everywhere and he would let her cuddle with him and use him as a pillow.

“It brightened our home because everywhere Macy was, Cocoa Puff had to be.”

Ms Smith said the bunny’s diet consisted of two big plates of greens, hay, and rabbit food pellets, also snacking on dried banana and mango.

The family also take him on bushwalks to get out of the house.

“When we do go out, we know that he’ll skip right by us and we don’t need to put on a leash or anything,” Ms Smith told The Morning Show.

Ms Smith said toilet training took about six months, with Cocoa Puff actually using a litter tray like a cat.

Because of his size, she said changing his litter tray was a lot more work.

Cocoa Puff is actually small for his breed.

Ms Smith said rabbits were more work than a dog or cat but she wouldn’t have it any other way.

“The love and interaction I see between Cocoa Puff and my kids is just priceless and you can’t take that away. He’s a part of our family,” she told Inside Edition.
