Melbourne woman rages over roadwork sign outside Kew home
A Melbourne woman has been ridiculed after a tradie decided to film her over-the-top reaction to a “footpath closed” sign placed outside her home.
An enraged woman has blown up at tradies for leaving a “footpath closed” sign in front of her Melbourne mansion.
Hilarious footage taken by a traffic controller in the affluent inner-city suburb of Kew shows the woman dragging the sign and traffic cones away from her home.
While moving the sign, the woman – who has been dubbed “Karen from Kew” – is heard shouting: “You can take photos of me all you like, but do not put this in front of my home”.

Social media users mocked the woman’s extreme reaction to the footpath sign.
“I wish I was so rich that my problems were a sign out front on a public footpath,” one user wrote.
“I like the part where she almost tripped and fell over,” wrote another.
“How do they become so passionate about something so unnecessary?” a third comment shared.
In another clip shared by the tradie, the same woman can be seen furiously moving more roadworks equipment away from her home towards the construction site next to her property.
‘Karen from Kew’ could be 2022’s version of ‘Karen from Brighton’.
The Melburnian, whose real name is Jodi Grollo, shot to fame during the 2020 lockdowns when she was interviewed by Nine News from Melbourne’s Botanic Gardens.
When asked about the restriction which asked people not to cross council boundaries while exercising, she said: “Well, you get sick of walking the same streets. You know, I’ve done all of Brighton.”
The Brighton woman has since amassed a social media following of more than 11,700 Instagram followers.
While her last post was from early January, she frequently posted videos criticising Victorian Premier, Daniel Andrews and lockdown restrictions.
