The Kid Laroi has come good on his promise to reschedule his postponed Melbourne shows

He was forced to cancel a collection of concerts last week due to illness, leaving fans disappointed – now he’s making good.

Pop star The Kid Laroi has unveiled his rescheduled Melbourne dates and confirmed his postponed Brisbane shows will go ahead as planned, after his triumphant homecoming tour was interrupted by a bout of influenza.

“The doctor has told me that I can’t perform tomorrow night and I need one more day to get healthy,” he posted on his social media channels on Sunday night.

“The (Brisbane) Monday show will now move to Wednesday and the Tuesday show will go ahead as planned.

“I know I have to do it in order for me to give you the show that you want to see.”

The star also noted that his new Brisbane show, to be held at the outdoor Riverstage auditorium, would clash with the annual State of Origin opener.

“You guys want me to put it on the screen behind me?” he asked, to which 66 per cent of poll respondents opted for the football.

The rescheduled dates come after Laroi controversially cancelled his Melbourne show last Friday after falling sick, with the announcement coming 35 minutes after he was scheduled to appear onstage.

“I promise you with all my heart that I gave everything in me to try and get up on that stage tonight,” he wrote on Instagram after the mishap.

“This is my first time touring and I’m discovering lots of new things about my body that I didn’t know before.

“I’m doing everything I can now to take care of myself and make sure I’m good to come back and give you all the show that you deserve.”

The star’s two night stand at Melbourne’s Rod Laver arena has been re-booked for this Friday, June 10, and Sunday, June 12.

Despite the hiccup, LAROI’s tour down under has been a huge success, with sold-out arena shows in Perth, Adelaide and Sydney already in the books.

In addition to putting on amazing pop spectacles, the singer has also kept a busy itinerary that has included a Macca’s collaboration, hitting the casino in Adelaide and showing his support for grassroots musical talent.
