Just one day after cancelling both Melbourne shows as part of his Australian tour, The Kid Laroi has confirmed that he will also change the date for his first show in Brisbane, due to illness.

In a new post to his Instagram stories, 18-year-old Aussie singer The Kid Laroi has confirmed that he’ll need to change the dates for his Brisbane shows.

“Brisbane – the doctor has told me that I can’t perform tomorrow night & I need one more day to get healthy,” the star shared.

He went on to explain that Tuesday night’s show at Brisbane’s Riverstage is not cancelled, but postponed until Wednesday this week.

“It sucks that I have to do this and I hate disappointing you all,” he said, “but I know I have to do it in order for me to give you the show that you want to see.”

“I promise I will give you 1000% when I get back on that stage.”

Tickets purchased for the original date remain valid for the new date, but anyone who can’t make it on Wednesday can lodge a refund request via point of purchase by June 7, 2022.

The announcement comes after Laroi pulled the pin on his Melbourne arena show on Friday night – almost 40 minutes after he was meant to take the stage. Later, he also cancelled the second Melbourne show with a statement revealing he’s been diagnosed with the flu and must rest up “on doctor’s orders.”

The Herald Sun reports that the hit maker was meant to take the stage at 9pm but cancelled the show at 9.35pm due to illness, leaving a capacity crowd at Rod Laver Arena fuming.

One fan captured the mood inside the 14,000-capacity arena as it was announced the show was not going ahead in a video that was posted to social media.

“Huge apologies for that, but obviously it’s outside anyone’s control … please travel safe,” the announcer can be heard saying, as boos ring out through the arena.

In a lengthy message posted to his Instagram stories after the announcement, Laroi – real name Charlton Howard – apologised to fans and explained that illness was the cause of the last-minute cancellation.

The teen star revealed that he’d been feeling sick all day but felt worse after arriving at the venue and performing a sound check – with his team calling in doctors who put him on an IV drip.
