Matty J shocked by viral bin bag hack

Bachelor star Matty J has racked up more than 7.6 million views on a TikTok of himself trying a “mind-blowing” bin bag hack.

It’s so simple, it’s “mind-blowing”, well at least for former Bachelor star Matty J who couldn’t quite believe this viral bin hack actually worked.

The radio presenter and podcast host took to his TikTok over the weekend to try out the hack which has since racked up 7.6 million views and thousands of comments.

But first, Matty shared a clip of how he previously drew a bin bag.

It showed the 37-year-old hilariously struggling to open the plastic bag using one hand to buff it out before falling to the floor.

“As you can see the new method is far easier,” he caption the post.

In a separate clip, he showed himself trying the “genius” hack originally shared by a US man.

All it involves is holding the plastic bag with the closed end up top and using your other hand to slide down the length of the bag to straighten it.

Once you do that, it should be stiff enough to pop it into the bin.

“You are a genius!!” Matty told the man, while also using the hashtags ‘lifehacks’, 'mindblown’ and ‘gamechanger’.

Matty’s post had been ‘liked’ more than 500,000 times with thousands of TikTok users shocked by the hack.

“I was today years old when I learned this,” one man wrote.

“AFTER ALL THIS TIME!!! SHEEESH!!!” another wrote, while a third added: “How many times did I watch this …”

Others were eager to give it a go while some revealed it's a method they have been doing for years.

“Umm my mum taught me that when I was about 8 years old … I thought it was how everyone did it,” one person commented.

“Been doing that for at least 10 years,” said another.
