Woman’s $10 solution to annoying tiles problem

A Melbourne woman has left Facebook users shocked after she revealed the cheap and unlikely item she used to remove grime from her tiles.

Woman's cheap cleaning hack goes viral

A woman has created a huge buzz online after she revealed the unlikely supermarket item she used to transform her laundry tiles.

Taking to the popular Facebook group – Cleaning & Organising Inspiration Australia – the Melbourne woman explained she used OMO active laundry detergent to help remove the dirt and grime from between her tiles.

She nabbed the item on special from Coles for $10. Woolies also stocks the product for $11.

“l just used two scoops of omo and a bucket of hot water and a scrubbing brush from Woolworths – that’s it,” she said in the comments section of her post.

“It came off really easily. I was so surprised.

“I tried pouring a generous amount on the grout to soak it but then l have to get on my knees to scrub it, which isn’t ideal because l get wet knees, so l just moved backwards.”

She opted for the $4.95 Sabco Big Scrub Brush from Woolies, adding it helps that it has firm bristles.

“l did have a softer brush to get in near the cupboards.”

After many asked if she left the product to soak on the tiles, the woman said she just put the powder in the bucket, dunked the brush in it and immediately started to scrub.

“I did use Radiant but it was too foamy, I thought,” she said.

She explained that the whole process took her about 40 minutes.

“I did mop the floor with floor cleaner afterwards to take off any residual Omo so it wasn’t slippery,” she said.

Hundreds of cleaning enthusiasts have since bombarded her post, shocked by her cheap cleaning solution.

“I am going to try tomorrow. This is life saving hack. May God bless you,” one woman joked.

“That’s a wicked result,” said another.

“STOP! This is amazing,” a third person added, while a fourth person was left blown away by the before and after snaps.

“What a big difference, great job,” they wrote.
