Aldi item’s secret feature labelled a ‘game changer’

The $60 home item has earned rave reviews online for one detail – with shoppers being told to “be in early” to get their hands on it.

Aldi: The best special buys of all time

Having a rubbish bin in your home might be an (unfortunate) necessity of life, but one savvy shopper has found a laundry product that does a great job of disguising any unsightly waste or recycling.

The $60 Aldi item is getting rave reviews from shoppers online who have labelled it a “game changer” for home waste.

Available as part of Aldi’s Special Buys sale on July 17, the double laundry hamper is designed to look like a cabinet, but has two chutes behind its doors that include removable hamper bags.

While the hamper has yet to hit stores, shoppers who got their hands on it at a previous Special Buys sale last year have been raving about it on Facebook.

“This laundry hamper has been a game changer for rubbish and recycling,” one woman wrote in the Cleaning & Organising Inspiration Australia Facebook group.

She said that she had removed the hamper bags that came with it and put 27 litre bins purchased from Bunnings inside.

Her post attracted more than 1000 comments from shoppers who praised the idea of using it for rubbish as “genius” and “deceptively pretty”.

“I need this. Immediately,” one person commented.

“What an awesome idea for keeping rubbish and recycle separate,” another wrote.

“I have this and I literally dump all my clothes on top of it in my bathroom! Was literally thinking the other day what can I use this for. Genius!” one woman also wrote.

“What a good idea! I paid $40 for a crappy stainless steel one,” another commented.

The original poster advised those interested in the double hamper to “be in early” if they wanted to get their hands on it.

“That’s how I scored mine,” she said.

I was kicking myself for missing it last year,” one person also commented.

Aldi selling mum’s clever dirty laundry solution

The hamper cabinet isn’t the only Aldi laundry item shoppers have gone crazy for – last month the store included the Strucket as part of its Special Buys.

Invented by Queensland mum Kelly Lavery, the basket is an integrated strainer and bucket that works exactly like a bucket.

The only difference is that when you need to drain it you simply pull the strainer section inside the bucket upwards, meaning you can avoid getting dirty water everywhere during the strainer process.

Ms Lavery has gone on to sell almost 200,000 Struckets across the country since she developed it three years ago, with the item hitting Aldi shelves for $44.99 a pop.
