The discount supermarket chain is restocking a popular bed item that’s been dubbed a sleep cure after it sold out in minutes earlier this year.

It’s been dubbed a sleep cure by insomniacs and if you missed out on the cult bedroom buy in Aldi earlier this year then this might be your chance.

Aldi is restocking its weighted blankets which sold out in minutes when they hit the store as part of their Special Buys in January.

The blanket, which is said to reduce anxiety and help users drift off to sleep, will hit Aldi once again next Wednesday.

The supermarket is selling them for just $89.99, with weighted blankets costing upwards of $200.

Shoppers keen to get their hands on one of the blankets have been warned to get in early as they will sell out “really quickly”.

“They will last 5 minutes,” one person wrote on Facebook, while another advised to “be there by 8 at the latest and line up, they are really popular”.

Meanwhile, others shoppers said they had bought their weighted blanket from other stores for a similar price.

“You can get them at Spotlight if that’s an option for you, they go on sale pretty often as well,” one person wrote, while another added: “I got mine from Big W for the same price (7kg $89) if you miss out.”

Weighted blankets are filled with small objects like pellets, discs or beads of polypropylene plastic or glass.

The weighted surface acts like a “hug” to promote relaxation and help users drift off to sleep faster.

While experts say concrete evidence that weighted blankets work is “unfortunately lacking”, plenty of people claim the product has helped them get shut eye.

Aldi’s version comes in two different weights, the 6.8kg which is suitable for people weighing between 55kg to 80kg, and a 9kg version which is for people weighing more than 80kg.
Also on offer next Wednesday are 1000 thread count fitted sheet sets costing $79.99 for a queen and $89.99 for a king.

There’s also a memory foam pillow for $39.99 and a queen doona that’s 50/50 duck down and feather for $129.99.
