$30 bouclé ottoman is must-have item in new Kmart homewares collection
Some furniture brands are charging hundreds for this item – but Kmart has a version saving buyers as much as $669 and it’s flying off shelves.
Kmart has sent shoppers into a spin again – this time over a $30 furniture item that is easily mistaken as something expensive.
The discount store recently started selling an ottoman upholstered with the bouclé material that has become trendy during the pandemic.
In case you’re not familiar with the fabric, it is soft and textured, and kind of makes chairs look like a cloud.
Thanks to its aesthetically pleasing finish and soaring popularity, furniture items made using the fabric can have varying price points – with ottomans retailing for as much as $699.
However Kmart has waltzed in with an ottoman costing just $30 – sparking a frenzy among shoppers.
One woman who revealed she “got the last one” at her local store shared a video unboxing the item on TikTok – prompting a flurry of envious comments.
“It’s sold out everywhere,” one woman commented.
“I paid $200 for mine at Pillow Talk,” another said.
Meanwhile others said, “Ooooofff that’s nice,” and described it as “super cute”.
Many said the video had caused them to order one online “immediately”, declaring: “Kmart furniture is amazing.”
