$14 Bunnings solution to cupboard issue goes viral on TikTok
One woman has shared the “genius” way she solves an annoying issue when it comes to kitchen storage.
A Bunnings shopper has shared her “genius” solution to an annoying cupboard problem many of us will have when it comes to cleaning products storage.
Keeping stocked up on cleaning products might mean you have a sparkling home, however, it can be easy for storage space to easily fill up that under-the-sink space.
But there’s an under-utilised area that can be taken advantage of with a Bunnings item that costs $13.95.
Depending on your set-up, the storage space under the sink typically used for cleaning products can be rather tight – or even non-existent if your kitchen is on the small side.
TikTok user @organisedhomeboss explained in a video this week how she had purchased two Home Leisure spice racks and screwed them to the inside of the cupboard’s door.
“If you have a cupboard under the sink that’s really, really small or just tight for space, and you store lots of your cleaning products there this is the perfect item for you,” she explained in the video.
“It’s a spice rack from Bunnings warehouse, you place it on your door and pretty much I put all my cleaning products on there. It’s the best, they’re all visible.”
The video has been viewed more than 721,000 times, with people praising the cheap yet “genius” solution.
It’s also prompted a spike in popularity for the product too, with a spike in page views for the cheap yet practical spice rack on the Bunnings website.
“First useful hack I’ve seen in years,” one commenter said.
“Bunnings here I come,” one person wrote.
“Need this in my life,” another commented.
Bunnings Kitchen Buyer Alice Burney told news.com.au: “We love seeing the clever ways customers use our products and this is a great example of an easy and affordable way to add some extra storage to a space that needs it.”
Last month, another Bunnings-related cleaning hack went viral on TikTok, with US mum sharing a cheap trick she had learned when using the popular Vileda Easy Wring & Clean Turbo Mop.
The mop bucket, which is available at both Bunnings and Woolies, is sectioned off with an opening for the water and spot to spin the mop.
But in the viral video, Danielle shows followers how she used a cheap bucket – like the $0.95 multipurpose plastic buckets from Bunnings – to fit into the opening of the Vileda bucket.
It’s to separate the clean water from the dirty water.
The handy hack was also shared and praised on Facebook.
“I tried this with a Bunnings bucket and worked a treat,” one person wrote, while another added: “Why didn’t I think of that?”
