A woman has shared a clever hack when it comes to using a spin mop.
If you’re not a fan of re-using dirty water that goes back into the bucket, then perhaps this Bunnings tip can help solve that problem.
US mum Danielle, who boasts 2.9 million ‘likes’ on her home hack videos, shared a recent TikTok clip about a cheap trick she had learned when using the popular Vileda Easy Wring & Clean Turbo Mop.
The mop bucket, which is available at both Bunnings and Woolies, is sectioned off with an opening for the water and spot to spin the mop.
But in the viral video, Danielle shows followers how she used a cheap bucket – like the $0.95 multipurpose plastic buckets from Bunnings – to fit into the opening of the Vileda bucket.
It’s to separate the clean water from the dirty water.
“I just bought an extra bucket that fits right into my (Vileda),” she said.
“And then I’m able to dunk it into water.”
Danielle raved about the handy tip, thanking one of her followers for the hack which they posted in her comments section.
“It works sooooo good,” Danielle said.
Others branded the idea “genius” with some eager to give it a go.
“I never thought of this,” one person wrote.
“Whatttt!! And I bought a 60 dollar mop that separates the dirty water from the clean water. “This is geniusssss!!!” said another.
The handy hack was also shared and praised on Facebook.
“I tried this with a Bunnings bucket and worked a treat,” one person wrote, while another added: “Why didn’t I think of that?”
Given the dimensions of both Bunnings items, the multipurpose bucket should fit, however the hardware store has plenty of other affordable buckets to try your hand at for the hack.
