Mum shocked by surprise letter from Bunnings

A NSW woman has shared the “heartwarming” discovery she made in her letterbox – revealing it pays to be a loyal Bunnings customer.

Coronavirus: How to be a good neighbour right now

A mum has shared the unexpected letter she received from her “neighbour” after putting up her annual Christmas lights.

The NSW woman decorates her home every year with an assortment of lights and festive figurines, revealing this year she decided to go even bigger for her three kids, aged 6, 5 and 3.

Shortly after the display was all lit up, she revealed she found a note in her letterbox from a “neighbour” a few kilometres away.

“We put lights out every year but this year I went to a little more effort,” she wrote in the Bunnings Mum Facebook group.

“Having Christmas lights out and driving around looking at everyone else’s brings the kids and I so much joy.”

She accompanied her post with a photo of her lights and a letter from her local Bunnings which is presumably where she buys the supplies for her festive display.

“Thank you for brightening our area with your amazing Christmas lights,” the letter read.

“Your display has brought great joy to many of our Team Members so we would like to say thank you and present you with a voucher.

“We all hope you have a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.”

The note was signed off from the “team at Bunnings Glendale” and came with a $10 gift card.

Unsurprisingly, the kind act has captured the hearts of many Australians, who have said it was such a “lovely thing to do”.

“Aww how lovely of them. Good ole’ Bunnings,” one said.

“That’s lovely of Bunnings to acknowledge your effort,” another wrote.

“What a thoughtful and smart initiative,” someone else agreed.

There were many who described the gesture a “heartwarming” and “moving”, while some thanked the woman for her “wonderful” lights, stating they looked “fantastic”.
