Bunnings $4 UNi-PRO Spray Can Trigger Grip praised for making home renos easy

A cheap item from the hardware store has been hailed as the “best thing invented” for making a tedious home reno job less “painful”.

Secret Bunnings hack that'll save you money

When it comes to home renos, one of the most tedious jobs can be painting.

Which is why it’s understandable that mums have gone crazy for a $4.30 Bunnings product that’s been hailed a “wonderful invention” for any spray painting jobs you might have.

“I’m sorry but whoever came up with this invention is a freakin genius! And less than 5 bucks. Winning! Worked a treat on windows,” one woman wrote in the Bunnings Mums Australia Facebook group.

The mum explained that she had spent “three full days” on painting and other reno work and had used Bunnings’ UNi-PRO Spray Can Trigger Grip – a plastic hand aid that can be used by those with arthritis.

“It attaches to the can simply clicks on, easy,” she wrote. “You then point and squeeze, and there you have it a spray gun for lack of any other way to describe. Great for big jobs, saves painful fingers.”

Her post soon attracted hundreds of comments from other women who either praised the
“brilliant” product or said they couldn’t wait to get their hands on it.

“Yes I discovered these recently too they are the best thing invented I have seen in ages love it,” one person wrote.

“This is amazing!! I’m always getting a sore hand and wrist from holding down these types of can nozzles!!” another said.

“I’m off to Bunnings tomorrow fingers crossed they have some,” one mum commented.

CHEAP BUNNINGS HACK FIXES WINDOW PROBLEM

Last month, Tasmanian mum Katie Pyke shared her Bunnings solution to that annoying gap many homes have between the roller blind and a window frame.

Ms Pyke used two PVC mouldings that cost her $10.60 ($5.30 each) for one window.

To block the gaps she simply cut the PVC mouldings to the size of her window frames.

“I then used the adhesive primer and spray-painted them black,” Ms Pyke said.

“I then screwed them onto the window frames. I’m sure double-sided tape would work just as well too.”

Her idea was praised when Ms Pyke shared it on Facebook, with people labelling it “very clever” and pointing out it would also keep the blinds neat.

“Well done, that’s always a problem with blinds,” another added, while a fourth commented: “Great idea. I hate the gaps too. Always feels like there is someone on the other side looking in.”
