Inside Kusnacht Practice, the world’s most expensive rehab centre
IT BOASTS penthouses by the mountains, lakeside villas and even a castle. But this isn’t a Ritz-Carlton - it’s a $130,000-per-week rehab facility.
SITUATED on a perfectly manicured parcel northeast of Lake Zurich, it offers penthouses by the mountains, lakeside villas and even a castle.
But this isn’t a Ritz-Carlton — it’s a rehab facility called Kusnacht Practice. And an expensive one at that: Its $130,000-per-week cost can drive anyone to drink (which would probably defeat the purpose here).
Still, the ritzy rehab resort is good enough for George Michael, he of high faith, who apparently checked into the centre, it was reported in June.
Reportedly the world’s most expensive recovery program, Kusnacht Practice treats, among other ailments, personality and eating disorders, depression and anxiety, and drug, alcohol and gambling addiction.
By comparison, Australia’s the Sanctuary will set you back $135,000 for four weeks, while celebrity favourite Promises in Malibu, clocks in at about $73,000 for 31 days. Kusnacht justifies its sky-high costs with its distinctive, highly personalised edge, treating one client at a time — and no more than 30 per year, according to reviews.
“We offer much more than beautiful locations and excellent Swiss service,” boasts the site.
Indeed: Upon arriving at the airport, clients are greeted by a personal driver and therapist, who whisks them to the facility, where they can receive acupuncture treatments and call on butlers and their very own personal chefs at a moment’s notice.
And if the luxe on-site digs simply aren’t posh enough for you, there’s always the option of leaving campus and enjoying another exclusive Swiss location.
“Dolder Grand, Zurich’s most exclusive and magnificent hotel, located on the hill above Zurich with a wonderful view of the city, Lake Zurich and the Alps.”
But it’s not all detox and no fun. “Sport opportunities” abound, including meditation, tennis, horseback riding, boating and, of course, snowboarding. Each client also has a personal trainer and yoga instructor at his beck and call.
And don’t forget the VIP concierge service.
Their “global reach” can surely please even the most discerning 12-stepper with fine dining, personal shopping, private jet and yacht charters, and more.
Happy healing!
