A pasta sauce, which could contain metal and plastic, has been pulled from shelves but there’s an urgent warning for anyone who already purchased it.

A pasta sauce sold at Woolworths stores across the country has been urgently recalled over fears metal and plastic may be present.

Leggo’s Fresh Napoli Sauce with Tomato, Garlic, Basic and Oregano with the use by date 02/10/2021 should not be consumed and should be returned to the Woolworths store from which it was purchased for a full refund.

Food Standards Australia said the recall was due to the “potential presence of foreign matter (metal and plastic)”.

“Food products containing metal and plastic may cause illness/injury if consumed,” the regulator said.
