Coles-branded tomato paste urgently pulled from shelves
Two popular food products sold at Coles have been urgently recalled after an undeclared allergen was found.
Two Coles-branded tomato pastes have been pulled from the supermarket giant’s shelves due to an undeclared allergen.
Coles Tomato Paste 170g and Coles Tomato Paste 500g (white label) have been sold at Coles supermarkets, Coles Local and online.
The recall is due to the presence of an undeclared allergen (soy) in both products.
It impacts all best before dates from the past 12 months after the products were sold in Coles stores nationally from July, 2021.
Customers who have a soy allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if they consume the tomato paste.
Anyone who is allergic or intolerant should therefore not eat these products and instead return them to their place of purchase for a full refund.
Online customers can receive a full refund or credit by contacting Coles Online Customer Care on 1800 455 400.
Coles has apologised for any inconvenience.
