A popular syrup that is often used in drinks and deserts has been recalled due to an undeclared allergen.

A popular syrup often used in milkshakes, smoothies and as an ice cream topping has been recalled over allergy fears.

Hershey’s Syrup Indulgent Caramel Flavour 623g has been recalled due to the presence of an undeclared milk allergen.

The affected batch has the best before date of 08 2025.

The contaminated syrup was available at Coles and IGA in NSW and Queensland, SPAR stores in Queensland and in Woolworths supermarkets country wide.

People who have a milk allergy or intolerance are warned not to consume the product and to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.

If anyone has consumed the product and are concerned about their health they are urged to seek medical advice.
