Woolworths begins stocking items from cult US dessert shop
Australians only have to travel to their nearest Woolworths to sample a cult-classic product previously only available in America.
Woolworths has begun stocking a cult-classic product that Australians would have previously had to fly all the way to the United States to sample.
The Cheesecake Factory is a must-try when visiting America, but one Aussie shopper has discovered that a variety of cheesecakes are now available at Woolworths.
Rose Khater, a Sydney-based food vlogger, took to TikTok after finding them in Woolies.
“They’re only $30 and come in three flavours – original, raspberry white chocolate and chocolate mousse,” Rose said.
“It takes exactly like the original – and they’re only at Woolworths.”
Other social media users had a mixed reaction to the news, with some over the moon but others were left open-mouthed at the price of the 736-gram cake.
“OMG I need to try,” one social media user exclaimed.
Another said: “I’m going to Woolies right now!”
“Oh noooo it’s payday today too,” another social media user commented.
One tagged their friend in the comment section, saying “you love cheesecake”.
But many more were shocked by the price tag on the cake.
“Those are tiny, Costco has been selling the full sized ones for ages for about the same price,” one said.
“Not for 30 bucks tho lol,” one person said.
“Only $30 LMAOOOO, can buy five normal ones for that,” one social media user commented.
“I’d rather get the massive Costco one.”
“Only’ must have some new meaning I’m not aware of,” another shocked TikTok user commented.
One social media user commented: “What a rip off so small just go cheesecake shop get it fresh or Costco huge one cheap to.”
“Only 30 bucks for a frozen cheesecake? Might as well go to the Cheesecake Shop and get fresh ones,” another added.
One person said: “You’re saying $30 as if that wasn’t expensive for something smaller than your hand!”
